Headscarf Loving and Happy Mothers Day

Bad hair day? Not a problem, I just add a multicolored scarf to the outfit and voila I am doing my own thing with my head held high.

So I woke up this morning to home made breakfast in bed, nothing fancy, just oats cooked by Dada under 7 year old's strict supervision.

The conversation in the kitchen I am told went a bit like this: Are you using that pot? Yes, why? That's not the one Mama uses for oats, I'll get you the right one.  Now don't add a lot of sugar, you know Mama doesn't like too much unhealthy stuff and make sure you cook enough so I can have some too okay???? It felt great that I didn't have to anything today.

Now, 21 year old who is over at his cousin's at the moment, calls at 1:45pm to wish me Happy Mothers day, and being the good mum that I am, rubbed it in about my breakfast and how he was so late with his wish. It's mothers day after all and I had to make someone feel guilty in my not so subtle way.  hahaha.
I don't know about you, but some days I wake up and I have an outfit in my head and no matter what it takes, I will wear it.  Today was no different, I just wanted to wear this dress and even though it was a bit cold, I thought, it would be fine with the leggings but I stepped outside and o my gosh, I was so cold I had to cover it up with the trench coat.  It turned out well and the weather was all nice and warm after service.

  1. Elsie I love turbans and headscarves! I can't tell you how much I love this look! Would you mind showing how big a scarf should be to style it like that and maybe do a tutorial? I would love that!

  2. I love this look Elsie, so colourful and although its annoying to have to wear a coat when you think it's going to be warm the coat looks great too.
That photo of you and your boys is fabulous. Mother's Day here in the UK is in March so long gone. The kitchen dialogue made me laugh, I know similar conversations have taken place in my kitchen. . .!

  11. That outfit is fantastic! I don't blame you for being determined to wear it. I love the turban and wish I could wear one but I have a weird head shape and very slippery hair so everything slips off. I really like the look of that dress with the leggings but I'm glad you were able to take off the trench coat later!
