A Lifestyle Blog With An African Twist

Colors of Africa - Orange and Blue Ankara

Hello, welcome and thank you for visiting The Cooking Wardrobe. Africa, a beautiful continent, with lovely beaches, nice weather, vibrant colors and lots of minerals.  It is however so sad that our leaders choose to be greedy and allow the masses to suffer and die of ill health and abject poverty while they wallow in luxury.   One thing I admire most about our people is that through it all, we are still smiling, just happy to be alive, full of hope that its going to be all right.  I can say Africans are the most resilient bunch of people in the world.

When I visited Ghana recently, on one of our many shopping trips to the markets, I felt so much joy just being surrounded by the fresh organic vegetables and fruits, bright colored clothes and handmade beads and slippers.  You should see the market women in their colorful attires, wide brim hats, ringing bells and chanting to catch the customers attention.  It was during one of these trips that I bought the beads, headscarf and earrings from a lovely christian woman.  The fabric for this outfit is a gift from a woman that is very dear to me.

I stand today with all Africans to say that its going to get better, for we know that "in all things we are more than conquerors through him who loved us". Romans 8:37.

Thank you for reading, stay blessed and see you in 2015.
