Hello and welcome to The Cooking Wardrobe. Last week I happened upon Madison Reed a hair care company in America . Check out their range of hair dyes on their website. They asked me to tell them a little bit about myself in relation to my hair color. As any other sensible (is sensible a brunette thing?) person will do I went and checked with the modern day owl (google) what other people were saying about this and if I could by any slight chance see traits of my personality. From the articles I read, I found that most people believe that people with brown hair are serious, dependable, trustworthy, hardworking and calm to mention a few and you can ask my family and friends if I possess those traits because I am surely not going to blow my own horn here okay.
Moving on, personally, I think your personality comes from your background not your hair color. I have been dyeing my hair mahogany brown for a while now just because I think it compliments my skin tone better and if I go blonde tomorrow doesn't mean I am craving more fun in my life.
So now let's talk about the traits that I can happy tell you about:
I was brought up to be so organised that we could find a box of matches in the dark if the lights went out.
Priority is key to me, I can happily forgo a party if I have important things to do.
I love fashion but will not put myself in debt just to have what's currently trending on the market (nothing wrong with second hand #vintage #classic #comfortable).
If you haven't guessed already, I love cooking and have loved it since my hair was black.
I am definitely not a bubbly person but not so shy either. I'd like to think that I don't bore people with my conversations because you are sure to get a good laugh when you have one with me.
Today's outfit photos I took when I did my make up bag post . Hope you like it.

ReplyDeleteWhat a stunner you are, Elsie! And I am not surprised by the description of your personality - you do come across this way. :) xxx
ReplyDeleteA stylish look Elsie and your hair colour is perfect. I agree with you on the hair colour and personality , we are who we are not because of our hair colour. Have a great week.
ReplyDeleteGreat to get to know you better! And your hair/outfit look fab. Thanks for sharing with Visible Monday, xo.
ReplyDeleteLooking great in your all black ensemble Elsie! You look great with this hair colour. I was born with auburn hair, rare, but I love darker for myself so I can understand. Love your personality, keep doing what makes you feel and look good. Love your confidence too. Have a pleasant week. <3 xx

Brown hair are serious, dependable, trustworthy, hardworking and calm...hmmm - this sounds more like a stereotype. I bet I can guess what they said about blondes. I like the words to India Arie's song called, I Am Not My Hair. We shouldn't be judged by our hair. Unfortunately, society does just that.
ReplyDeleteWow, this is such a classy, yet chic look!

You look so elegant in this outfit. I love the top, it suits you perfectly!
ReplyDeleteI've tried so many hair colours - red, pink, purple, green, dark blond, light blond, and lately sometimes even my own grey!!! I think hair colour shows how others feel about it, not "wearer's" personality! Like you wrote about Brunettes: I was treated like I was a serious, trustworthy and calm person, which I'm not at all! Well, maybe trustworthy... But it proved, that my hair colour wasn't about me, it was about the "viewer" :-)
I love this post. We kind of have a few things in common, darling! You look lovely in black. And I love the hair.
ReplyDeleteYou look stunning in this elegant all black outfit Elsie!
ReplyDeleteAnd yes I totally agree, character traits do not depend on hair colour.
I am dark blond by nature but have been dying my hair ginger for the past two years and dark brown before that for ages and no one actually really knows my natural hair colour (including myself).
People often say to me 'You're a typical redhead." without knowing how wrong they are. So there's that! ;)
WOW. . .I love this black on black outfit on you and I color my hair dark auburn or dark red. Rock on my Sista!!!
ReplyDeleteGreat look Elsie :) such a classic look...
ReplyDeleteThanks for stopping by Creative Mondays
Your choice of hair color also speaks to your sense of style ... rich, textured and tailored and carefully considered, with warm depths. How's that? You look long, lean and gorgeous and classic here, BTW.
ReplyDeletePeople sometimes ask me if my bright auburn color (which I mix myself) is natural ... I have to watch it that I don't laugh too hard and offend. Isn't it amazing the variety of skin tones are flattered by red?
I think your choice of hair colour suits your personality, the way you described it. I always find these stereotypes about hair colour and personality funny. I mean, given how common blond is in all Nordic countries... Thank hod nobody expects to meet a bunch of bubbly airheads here.
ReplyDeleteOh yes I do love your outfit: classy, modern and sexy. I say: wear it to death LOL.
ReplyDeleteAs for the colour of your hair: whatever makes you happy. I am a blond now and still very much in doubt. Yes, you don't see the grey outgrow as much as in my brunette hair. But I am a brunette. Honestly. Maybe it will grow on me, maybe I'll be a brunette in Autumn again.

Sleek and chic, Elsie! This is a great outfit. Your mahogany brown hair really suits you but I agree that hair colour is not really related to personality. People do make associations though and I have read similar things about brunettes to what you found and we all know the dumb blonde and temperamental red-head myths too. It's too dangerously close to suggesting race or gender is connected to personality. xoxo
ReplyDeleteI am an all black look girl. This iss cute
