A Lifestyle Blog With An African Twist

BOLD

Bold - showing or requiring a fearless daring spirit.

Hello and welcome to The Cooking Wardrobe.  How are we all doing my dear friends?

Hope all is well with you and your families.  If you are a regular visitor to this blog you do know that I love wearing bright colors and mixing prints.  I take risks with style, that is, sometimes it works, sometimes it doesn't but you guys have always been very kind telling me how fabulous I looked and how much you loved what I had put together.  Your kind words are helping me to be more daring and courageous.

Even though I grew up in a home where I was taught that "I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me" Philippians 4:13, I sometimes doubt my capabilities.  The fear of making mistakes, the fear of it coming back to bite me somewhere I won't like, knowing full well that once I hit the publish button its gone, everyone can see it.  This new found confidence is fantastic, it is showing in my day to day dealings with people around me.  Today, a lady from church said to me that she was asking her daughters if they had seen me of  late, and how different I looked.  I suppose it is coming back to bite me after all, but not in places I don't like.

I now know that no matter how many mistakes I make, its not the end of the world.  I learn from it and move on.  I make corrections, I push forward, more prepared, fearless because I have learnt from it and I am BOLD.

Thank you so much for stopping by and reading.  Let me know what you think of the outfit which I wore to church in the comments box and I will return your visit.  xo

  3. I love the bold bright colors. You are perfect Elsie. And yes we all learn from our mistakes and strive to do better. Like I say to my kids if there were no mistakes there'd be no growth. Happy Sunday darling. I trust service was inspiring. I attend on Saturday evenings so I can sleep in on Sundays shame on me, hehe.

  13. Your style here is GORGEOUS and resonates that of African culture. There are some members of our church from different parts of Africa that wear bold and beautiful dresses and headpieces just like this with heels and they are beautiful! Thank you for being bold and confident as of late and for linking up to "Bloggers Who Have INspired Me"
