A Lifestyle Blog With An African Twist

Springing in Aqua: A Black and White Dress + Aqua Shoes

Hello all!  I am almost back guys, I have been gone for a minute and I hope you missed my crazy write ups and boom chakalaka high up there with the Joneses outfits and recipes.  You all know I have been trying to get this degree sorted before I stop dying my hair and officially apply for my seniors card and that's not going to happen soon if I don't focus on my assessments.  I love blogging but I am also old enough to know when to take a break and prioritize the things that need my attention at any given time.  Allow me to sing the chorus from the gambler in my little Kenny Rogers voice "You got to know when to hold em, know when to fold em, know when to walk away, know when to run".  We all need a little break now and then.
Guys I don't know about you but for me it feels like 2016 the year of the monkey has lived up to it's name.  The monkey surely jumped onto my tree and has been shaking it since it landed on it.  I am holding on but for someone born in the year of the pig, I prefer peace and tranquility, I like to plan, organize and be in the know of what is happening and what is going to happen. They say no one knows tomorrow yet feeling as if I have some form of control keeps me sane.   Proverbs 3:5-6 says

"trust in the Lord with all your heart,
And lean not on your own understanding;
In all your ways acknowledge him,
And he will direct your path."
Simple right?  Yet I worry. And to think that I grew up in a christian home, a pastor's house for that matter and have taught kids at Sunday school  to just trust and God who knows best will make everything plain and lead you in the right direction.  He has brought us thus far, from the war zone in Sierra Leone, to Guinea, to Ghana, to Australia and He has been good to me and my family.

MY GOD HAS BEEN FAITHFUL!!!

Can you tell I am more of a dress and heels girl? I love me a dress especially ones with pockets like this black and white beauty from Target, paired with these aqua d'Orsay  heels from Wittner and white box clutch from Colette.

Enjoy the rest of your week my lovelies and see you at you blog space. xo

  9. Welcome back beautiful, albeit partly. Yes we all need breaks every once in a while. So glad you're here though cos I've been spoiled by the huge doses of laughter that only you can give. I've always trusted Him but learning to do so more and more as His love for me is revealed in more ways than one. I stand in awe. But your dress is gorgeous. Simple and chic. I love your choice of color for the heels. Happy Sunday girl!

  10. Now I can totally relate to this post in all honesty. Yes I do miss you and your humour you share with us every Sunday. You can't say it more clearly than this priority is the key and as much as I love blogging sometimes it has to take a secondary position so I can sort out my life and get the balance right. Good on you for going back to university, I am actively thinking of getting my masters sooner than later. Procrastination is winning the fight for now. That proverbs verse is the key to my life I recite it in every situation I face. God is faithful and he has really brought us this far and I thank him every day as it's not easy for the ones that are still in Sierra Leone. Enough of the essay you look amazing and I must say you are really rocking colours this year. Springing onto new heights.
    Enjoy your week
