The Sunshine and Shine On Awards

Last week, my new found, soon to be business partner :) blogger friend, Missy May  nominated me for the Sunshine and Shine On Awards.  As many of you know, I have only been blogging for three and a half months and had never heard of these awards however I gladly accepted because the idea behind these awards is to shine a bit of light on yourself by writing down some random facts and then nominate other bloggers you would like to know better. (How cool is that?). Thank you Missy May.

Rules of the Sunshine Award:
  • Use the logo below in the post.
  • Link to whoever nominated you.
  • Write ten pieces of information about yourself.
  • Nominate ten fellow bloggers “who positively and creatively inspire others in the blogsphere.”

Rules of the Shine On Award:

  • Display the award logo on your blog
  • Show appreciation by acknowledging the blogger who nominated you and link back to them in your post.
  • Share 7 random facts about yourself.
  • Nominate 15 bloggers you admire and happily pass on this award, making sure to link their blog into your post.

  2. Thank you so much, my dear! I am happy that you got two nominations at once! So we can learn so many facts about you all at once! :) I also can't believe that your older son is a grown up - you look so young yourself!! I hope you enjoy your profession, even though it's not teaching or medical field. A lot of us, I think, wanted to become teachers and doctors when we were kids - I know I did. The food you love sounds pretty unique - a foo-foo, what is that? :)

Thank you again for nomination. Hugses!

    1. Thank you Natalia for accepting the nomination. People always say that and I take it as a compliment, I do enjoy what I do now although some days are quiet challenging than others. Foo-foo is made from cassava (tapioca). In Sierra Leone, the cassava is grated and famented and then cooked into a dough, however in Ghana it is boiled and pounded using a special wooden mortar and pestle. I love both. :)

  5. Thank you so much for nominating me! I am honored. I enjoy meeting new people and learning about them through blogging. I would never have guessed you had a 21 year old, either! Foo-Foo does sound good after I read your description. I'm curious about palm butter. Is it something like peanut butter? Debbie @ ilovemylemonadelife.com

    1. I am very pleased that you accepted Debbie, thank you. I probably should have said palm butter soup. It's made from the juice of the palm fruit. Here is a recipe I posted in Feb. http://goo.gl/2jSys0
