A Lifestyle Blog With An African Twist

Afresh

Hello and welcome to The Cooking Wardrobe.  Hope this year has been good for you so far and still plodding on with that resolution. Haha.  I haven't made any resolutions this year because as I grow older I choose to focus on the good things going on in my life than worry about petty things that shouldn't be an issue.  I say they shouldn't be an issue because if they were, no one would ignore or abandon their resolutions before the end of January.  Having said that though, there are a few things that I would like to do less of and more of some this year, and that does not include exercise okay!! (This is for my friend who've asked me to do tough mudder with them this year - I am coming to stand by the sideline and clap for you while you suffer.)  Haha.  I would like to talk less, act more.  If an act of mine blesses someone then I believe I am making a difference in my own little way,  after all they say action speaks volumes. I would also like to make more time for family and read more. What would you like to do more of this year?

Thank you for reading, let me know what you think of the outfit which I wore to church in the comments box.  Take care and enjoy the rest of your week. xo

  17. Yes, act more and talk less! That makes sense to me. You look lovely here. I like the simplicity of a colorful dress and sandals. I'll confess that I really love your outfits that embrace Africa, whether it's the fabrics, style of dress, or headwraps. You look stunning in those. Plus I like to cook so I always love your food with an African twist. I live in the American South which has a strong African influence. It's the best food. I've learned a lot from my African-diaspora relatives. XXOO

  19. You look sooo radiant in this pretty floral-print dress, dearest Elsie!! And I totally agree with you about New Year's resolutions...I don't need to wait until January 1st if I feel the need to start a self-improvement project!! But if I DID decide to make a resolution or two?? Exercise would definitely not be on my list, either (haha!!)

  20. WOW. Wiser words could not have been spoken. This is so true, if resolutions are abandoned in the first month they don't mean much do they!

You look lovely in this outfit and thank you so much for joining the #reasonstodress linkup. I would love to have you join again today if you can find the time. So nice discovering your blog and getting to know you!

That buffalo check shirt from old navy is a major steal! I haven't shopped at Old Navy in Years...when are they going to open a chain in Italy!!

I often do the same thing, buy cute sweaters but take a little while to start REALLY wearing them and getting my money's use, the great thing about these staples is that they never go out of style.

Thank you so much for joining the #reasonstodress linkup, hope to have you back this week!

  21. Very elegant. Looks classic, yet fresh, feminine, young, but not too young. In other words... a perfect dress with perfect shoes.
