A Lifestyle Blog With An African Twist

Yellow and Burgundy DIY Ankara Top and Pant

Hi TCW readers!  How are you all doing?  Hope 2018 has started well for you and your family.  My resolve this year is to live with intention, be deliberate in my actions for my own self development.  I am going to do the simple things well.Spend more time with Eleven during school holidays and also love and be there for my family more.

Guuuuuys (in my Oprah voice 😁😁) if I had known earlier how enjoyable sewing can be I would have headed down this road a long time ago.  Anyway, I have started and the journey is amazing.  Pattern reading is so fun and I am sure my Ankara fabric suitcase has noticed that something is happening all of a sudden.  So I made this outfit which I wore to church today using McCall's pattern M7356 for the top and Newlook pattern 6130 for the pant.    The best part is that le Hubs is not complaining because I am not spending too much money on clothes although I had cut down drastically on clothes shopping anyway.

What's your plan for 2018?  Please share in the comments box below.  Once again, many thanks for stopping by and reading, till next time, I will see you at your little corner in the blogosphere.
