Valentine's day, a day set aside to celebrate love, to show your partner how much they mean to you by spoiling them with gifts and flowers and lovely cards which has just the right words that someone else has written but makes perfect sense to you and you know your partner will appreciate them so you go ahead and buy the card and give it to them with a smile and you are happy because they are happy.
I remember the first time the hubs sent me a bunch of flowers at work, I almost fainted. I wasn't expecting it at all because I had not seen that side of him before. Never in my wildest dreams did I think he was the flower giving type. I knew he was caring, helpful and prayerful but sending flowers to my office was something else. You see, where we come from, cards, flowers and heart shaped chocolates are not appreciated. My girlfriend back home use to say a card is not worth anything except if you keep it in your handbag, then you can use it to fan yourself when it's hot. Na I love you ar go eat? (I love you is not worth a feed) so most men do not bother with those things instead they will give you the money and you can do whatever or buy whatever you like.
So in this social media age when everyone is trying to upstage the other, I heard that some are going to the extent of buying themselves gifts and posting it on Instagram and saying it was from their partner mmmmmmm. If you did not receive anything why live a lie? To me it shows that you are paying too much attention on the grass across the fence Charley, if you jump and take a proper look, there are patches there too. So stay on your side of the fence and water your patches.
I am pretty sure you are all dying to know what I got from the hubs. Well, I got a big cuddle to Nine's amusement. For me, valentine's day should be celebrated when you are not expecting it, just like the bunch of flowers that almost gave me a heart attack.
Thank you for stopping by and reading. I do realize that we are all different and that is why I got you all a red rose from our garden. HAPPY VALENTINE'S DAY!!!!
This post was pretty interesting, and I agree folks should just take it as a day, and if something unexpected happens, then cool beans. I was commenting though, to ask where did you get your skirt from? I love it!!!!!!
