A Lifestyle Blog With An African Twist

Monochromatic

There I was at work the other day blabbing about how I think all colors look good on me.  Why would one do that at work you might be thinking?  Well we were talking about complimentary colors in relation to skin tones.  The other ladies knew all about it and some had even been to see a consultant to match them with their special colors and they only bought items from the swatch that was given to them but yours truly had never heard of  such a thing and buy any color that I like without a second thought.  Color is not my problem as I grew up in a country where most of our outfits are made from fabrics with heaps of vibrant colors.  Back then my problem was to get the tailor to sew the outfit on time especially if its for a special occasion where every other woman is supposed to be wearing an outfit made out of the same fabric and of course I didn't want to be the only one at the occasion without the "ashobi".

Having said that though, I think some colors choose the individual as in the case of burgundy and I. I do not intentionally go looking for burgundy items but most times, lets say nine times out of ten, when I get home from window shopping turned serious shopping,  there would be a burgundy something in among the items that I unintentionally looked at and somehow paid for (am I supposed to put a disclaimer here that I am not a shopaholic?) no?  I thought so too, thank you very much hahahaha.

With my collection of burgundies, I decided to do a burgundy monochromatic look which turned out really nicely and I am pretty sure you would agree with me. Yes, I know the sandals are fuchsia and the last time I checked they were all from the same family. Very close relatives in fact :).   As always let me know what you think in the comments box below and thank you so much for stopping by.  I know I haven't been visiting your blogs lately and I apologise for that.  I promise to make it up to you soonest.  Stay blessed and have a lovely week my darlings.  Muah, Muah.

  6. When it comes to my skin tone, it is brown that I try to avoid. I think the color blue chooses me, but I love purple and anything from that color family. You look gorgeous, as always. And I can see why Burgundy chooses you.

  9. Unintentionally looked for and somehow paid for, hahahahha. Elsie my darling at it again. Burgundy is honestly not my cup of tea but girl, you did this monochrome look justice. I do have a burgundy skirt suit, real pretty in my eyes which is why I dished out $ to buy it duh, but I can't get myself to style it. The shoes so work! Great styling!
